My review of Padmavati

The movie Padmavati, is a classic example of beauty and excellence. This movie, I feel represent today's society as well. Just like in today's society a woman has to bear the burden of her own Beauty. In the same way, padmavati's beauty became a curse for her. The attempts were made by Sultan Allahudin Khilji to possess thea
beauty of Padmavati. In today's scenario, we do see this kind of behavior in the public platform. The
issues like rape, eve teasing , stalking and acid attack, aims to derive similar purpose to possess the beauty of the women or to ruin it.
In the time of Padmavati, Johar seemed to be the only suitable answer to her problem. In today's time, a woman should fight back. Fight back from the evils of the society because being beautiful isn't a curse.

  1. Nice thought, Vinayana. Yes it is true that women were judged on the basis of their beauty, and were expected to safeguard it by sacrificing it. That's the beauty of historical movies; they make you comapare 'Then V/S Now'. I hope no more Jauhars happen today, and every Khilji is punished severly, so that No Padmaavati should feel ashamed of her beauty 😊

  3. Well penned, Vinni. The beauty indeed becomes a curse at times as there are so many khiljis around but beauty must roar like Rani Laxmi Bai to steer them away. Today's times are to take the Khilji to pyre....
